Life, liberty, healthcare is a blog that focuses mainly on the cost and complexity of the American health care system. We provide commentary on nuanced policy issues and try to summarize implications of current reform efforts in simple ways. Where we can, we use data.

Three major themes permeate the blog:

  1. Our current system is unfair and random;

  2. Employer-sponsored insurance is inconvenient and not affordable; and,

  3. We must advocate for universal health insurance coverage.

Our vision is simple: health care is a human right, essential to a pursuit of happiness.
